Marble Caves, a geological formation of unusual beauty, are located in the center of the lake General Carrera on the border of Chile and Argentina. These happen to be on the second largest freshwater lakes in South America. Many people class this network of marble caves as the most beautiful cave network in the whole world. The Marble Cathedral is magnificent.
Argentina and Chile share this lake but the thing to mention is that the Chilean side of the lake has this beautiful emerald-green and turquoise-blue combination of waters. Erosion is the factor that carved these cavern sculptures. There are three main marble formations i.e. La Capilla (the Chapel), El Catedral (the Cathedral) and La Cueva (the Cave).

This labyrinth of marble caves is quite impressive and it is large enough to let a small boat glide through. Water erodes marbles to bring this masterpiece into existence. Different color shades can be observed based on the impurities of the content of the caves. White banks can be found because of the greater purity of minerals. Pink and blue marble banks can also be found due to the presence of various other minerals. Salmon and Trout are found in abundance in the lake. Many tourists visit this lake for fishing as well as to enjoy the beauty of the Marble Cathedral.
